About us
Pierce loves to be outside, he always has, starting as a young tot helping his Mama in her beloved & prized gardens. Growing up it didn't take much for him to realize a career that kept him inside & behind a desk was just not for him. Keeping that in mind, he pursued his degree in Business & Landscape Planning from Philadelphia University, graduated in 2008, and hit the ground running towards his passion. It is from that very moment - armed with one truck, a few tools, and his expansive knowledge and passion, he started a company that would quickly become an industry leader in the landscape design field, Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design.
Today, Pierce leads a dedicated and hardworking team with over 40 years combined experience, knowledge, and expertise. Over time he has seen how crucial outdoor lighting can be, for both aesthetics and safety. Witnessing this need first hand, a lightbulb went on - pun intended - as he realized this was a service vastly missing from the current outdoor offerings in our area. Pierce was eager to bring forth an entity with focus solely on the art of nightscape lighting, and thus Sunset Landscape Illumination was born.
As with our parent company, Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design LLC, the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Pierce's relentless determination for superior quality and customer service are the backbones for both businesses.
